About me

Hi, I’m Janekia — the creator behind Pinkkard Design. I specialize in building websites that are not only visually appealing but also functional and easy to use. Whether you're a small business owner, a creative, or someone with a big idea, I’m here to help bring your vision to life online.

I started designing websites because I love blending creativity with problem-solving. I’ve built personal projects like my own resume site, ecommerce mockups, and a voice acting portfolio. Every project is a chance to learn, improve, and create something meaningful.

My goal is to make the web more beautiful and more accessible—one custom site at a time. When you work with me, you’re not just hiring a developer. You’re partnering with someone who truly cares about your project.

Work

Freelance Web Developer

Remote / Charlotte, NC | 2023 – Present

  • Voice Acting Portfolio Website: Designed and launched a customized website for a professional voice actor to showcase demo reels, testimonials, and contact info. Used HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap for responsive design.
  • E-commerce Website (DippyDoo): Built a mock e-commerce site using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. Included shopping cart functionality, styled product pages, and integrated placeholder checkout features for front-end practice.
  • Resume Portfolio Website: Developed a personal online resume to highlight professional experience and web development skills. Implemented responsive design and smooth navigation for recruiter engagement.
  • Project Showcase Website (Nucamp): Created a full project portfolio site as part of Nucamp’s web dev program. Displayed completed coursework, code samples, and project descriptions using clean layout principles.
  • Focused on creating clean, mobile-first designs with user-friendly navigation, custom styling, and code organization best practices.
  • Practiced version control with GitHub and collaborated with peers through code reviews and feedback loops.
  • When a peer asked how to italicize text in HTML, I explained the difference between i and em — noting that while i is purely presentational, em conveys emphasis and meaning, making it more accessible and semantically appropriate in modern HTML. It was a great opportunity to highlight how even small choices in markup can improve a site’s structure and inclusivity.
